Jesus time

“All men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life:  in a certain sense, they are to make of it a work of art, a masterpiece.”  (Blessed Pope John Paul II)

I recently heard that professionals in any field or sport put in over 10,000 hours of time to reach their peak level.  10,000 hours!   I recently spoke with a High School golfer who told me that he practices 3 hours a day in the off season:  one hour of chipping, one hour of putting and one hour of swinging with an instructor and video camera…and yes, he is a 1 handicap.   How many hours do we spend with God?  How concerned are we at getting to know him here before we meet him in the next life?  He wants all of you to be extremely successful, but he also wants you to be extremely holy and faithful.  I was just at a retreat in NY with business leaders and one of them mentioned that his mentor dedicates 15 minutes every day for “Jesus time”, he considers it to be the most important appointment of the day.  Please, put God on your schedule!  We are here to serve Christ, our King!
