Ignition 2014

OK, most of you are getting ready for Christmas: decorations, gifts, food, church services, shopping, food, vacations, family events, food. (I really like the food part.)

But some folks are getting ready for Ignition.

Ignition is a New Year’s retreat for young men in high school, running from December 29 through January 2nd. It will be held at the Legion of Christ seminary in Cheshire, Connecticut. This year there will be skiing, sports, spiritual talks, a faith survey in New York, adoration, mass, and the list goes on. Most of those things are not unique to Ignition though. There is something else that makes this retreat extraordinary, it is planned and executed by the Regnum Christi Mission Corps.

The Mission Corps are guys who have recently finished high school and have given a year of their life to serve Christ and his Church. They work in many major cities throughout the US and in countries all over the world, bringing Christ to those they meet through their words and example. At Ignition the Missionary young men of the US come together to prepare a retreat that leaves an impact, not so much because of the full-on schedule but because of their testimony of what it means to put Christ at the center of your life.

So why don’t you make a different kind of New Year’s resolution this time around? It just might change your life.
