Patient endurance

“For a stalk to grow or a flower to open there must be time that cannot be forced; nine months must go by for the birth of a human child; to write a book or compose music often years must be dedicated to patient research …To find the mystery there must be patience, interior purification, silence, waiting…” Blessed Pope John Paul II

As a kid, I received Christ in the Eucharist every day in my High School and tried to continued this devotion into college…but I rarely had a profound experience of Christ in prayer. So when I asked my spiritual director about this before joining the seminary, he assured my, “Michael, I am a priest and I have a very special friendship with Christ. I talk to him and he talks to me…but this takes some time!” It has definitely taken me some time, but it is so worth it!
