Bishops Call for Novena for Life and Liberty

Therefore…pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. (James 5:16)

October is Respect Life Month, and on October 14, 2012, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops held a Mass and Pilgrimage for Life and Liberty at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC.  During the Mass, celebrated by Archbishop William Lori, the chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty for the USCCB, the bishops called for participation in a special Novena for Life and Liberty.

Although the novena began this past Sunday, it is never too late to join in prayer with our Catholic brethren, especially when such an important presidential election is rapidly approaching.

The first thing that came to my mind was a gift to God. What greater gift can we give him than oureelvss. With ordinations to the priesthood being in April and May, would it be a Novena for the religious-Priests, Nuns, etc?
