Yesterday we had a “cleaning spree” here at Mission Youth and I found this beautiful testimony of a missionary who went to Haiti this past year. Amazing what one week away from all and centered in others can do to our hearts. Have a great week!

“I don’t know where to begin because this experience is too amazing to be explained with words. Five days have change my life and I am returning home with a nourished spirit, soul and self. I have also gained a family and I have become a daughter, a sister, and a mother. I have grown in so many ways and learned so much; I have come to realize things that will change my life forever and that I hope to teach to others. Perhaps most importantly, I have learned the power of love. Something as easy, effortless and free as love can change the world. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you can be the world! We were the world to those people who needed us in Haiti, just by bringing them our love. I was not only giving them my own love, but I can now feel myself as a channel of God’s love. We were Jesus to these people, and I could see Jesus reflected back at me in the smile of a sick baby, in the awakened gaze and twinkling eyes of a dying woman, in the caress of a little hand, in the laughter of an orphan. I have connected with God through his people; I have sparked an incredible spiritual relationship that will continue to grow. I believe that it is my purpose to let God’s light shine through me as far as it can go (and this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!) I hope you all know how much you have changed my life and how I will be forever grateful. I hope to change other’s lives in the way that you have change mine.
