Suffer for God’s love

“Learn to suffer for the love of God, and don’t be anxious for everyone to find it out.”  (St. Theresa of Avila)

I was recently at a wake for a middle-aged woman who died of breast cancer.  Greeting the different folks at the funeral home helped me realize how much this gal had touched the hearts of many of these folks in the room.  One gentleman in particular mentioned (with tears in his eyes), “Even though she was battling cancer herself, she reached out to my sister who was dying of leukemia and especially to my mom who was having a really hard time coping.  She was helpful in so many ways and remained close even after my sister died.  She was a very special lady.”
