A poem for Mary

I thought it would be helpful to send out this poem that I recently wrote during a few free moments on vacation.

An Ode to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Through the darkest of nights and tempestuous seas,
Mary shines like a beacon and brings us great peace.
Commissioned by Jesus to be our loving “mom,”
Invoke her in prayer, no need for text or .com.

Because of her strong “yes”, to her womb he was sent.
Jesus came from her body, one hundred percent,
For forty plus years, she showed unlimited love,
God the Father was pleased from his perch up above.

Some people may question, “why not go straight to Christ”?
For he is God, and on the cross he paid our price.
But how can Jesus say “no” to his own mother?
Mary has a place in his heart like no other!

“To Jesus through Mary” is a path that will lead,
To the Heart of Jesus; all the saints have agreed!
She points us to the Eucharist; there we will find,
Her son’s real presence; both human and divine.

Thank you Mary, thank you for your generous care,
Without your help, our cross would be too much to bear.
