A birthday poem

I thought I would share my birthday poem to my mom in honor of all moms out there who continue to be a guiding influence on their children.

 A Birthday Poem

Like the choicest of wines, you get better with age,

Your mind is chock-full with sublime wisdom and sage.

Your soul has been chiseled and perfected within,

Virtue has reigned and thus left little room for sin.

But most of all, your wounded heart stands out,

Such love and goodness, leaves no room for doubt.

The lessons learned from your magnanimous soul,

Have inspired me to strive for this same goal.

Your fidelity to dad for forty five years,

Your fidelity to Christ in spite of the tears.

This is what matters to me as your son,

You stood firm by the cross, you did not run.

As you sprint to Christ in this last phase of the race,

I pray that He will fill you with sufficient grace.

Part of you is in me, a mystery indeed,

Thank you so much mom, for planting these seeds!
